Jesus said
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other: or else he will hold on to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6 v 24
During a visit to the bank I noticed a staff member with a bunch of keys opening hugh metal draws packed with bank notes and filled with coins.
It suddenly dawned on me that these metal and paper are the instruments used by men to manipulate our world.
Those dead objects are deciding who would eat and who won’t. They are causing in many cases suicides and wars. They are creating rifts in families and are responsible for the worlds turmoil currrently.
Money seems to be the thing everybody is hunting for and would do anything to obtain it. Could be through stealing, fraud, drugs, murder, work or investment.
It appears money is more important than food, family, friends or relationships.
I often wonder if there are no food , water or air what good is the money but nobody ever seem to think like that.
Here in this passage Jesus is saying mammon or as some bibles intepretation money is a Master and He Jesus is a Master.
Some of us in the world are following religion in Jesus name and others various religions but the common ground is everybody motive is to have money.
My question is how can in Jesus’ words money is a master, those of us who are following religion in Jesus name have the same desire as the ones who do not follow Jesus?
I believe Jesus’ teaching has not been taken seriously and hunger after money is supreme, which leaves us with the world’s Master money and we are all loving money rather than Jesus.
As Jesus said we could either hate the one and love the other.
Do we love money more than Jesus?
The consequence is we will not only live in this tumultuous world but we will be in Hell fire after death also. This is our spirits will be in constant torment forever. Jesus certainly do not want this for us.
