Jesus Said:
Ye are the Light of the World. A city that is set on a Hill cannot be hid: Matthew 5 v 14.
In my opinion Jesus (God) the creator of heaven and Earth was walking and talking with His created Beings. They did not know He was their creator but his presence of Love drew them unto Him.
He went up the mountain away from the crowd and sat looking at the people perhaps with heaviness of heart and sympathy. His disciples followed Him up the mountain and he had the opportunity to express Himself or His being with words of Wisdom to His disciples. He was telling them in the Beatitudes who He was and what His children ought to be like. Though statements and being on earth where everybody is seeking to satisfy his/her own needs, this was definitely something out of this World and had to be Spiritual but no one clicked then.
Unfortunately, even though Jesus came, died so that we can be cleansed from guilt (sin) and is now meeting those of us who call upon Him, Spiritually of course, we still do not know the make-up of Our God.
He said we are the light of the world, in my opinion a light dispels darkness and the examples Jesus used clearly states that we ought to dispel darkness Big time.
The Question is why so much darkness in our world;
Could it be Christians are failing to recognise who God is Love and cannot shine because we fall short of his real identity?
